Project Goal
The main goal is to conduct an architectural and historical study of the wooden sacred architecture of Transcarpathia. This includes creating a digital archive and popularizing the cultural heritage through 3D models and panoramic photographs. The documentation obtained from the project will also aid in restoration work and scientific research.
Key Project Stages:
-
Conduct a field expedition to select 15 wooden churches of Transcarpathia for digitization.
-
Perform comprehensive documentation of the sites (laser scanning, aerial photography, photogrammetry).
-
Create high-precision 3D models and architectural drawings.
-
Develop a digital archive with historical references for each site.
-
Publish the 3D models on international platforms such as Sketchfab, OpenHeritage3D, and Europeana.
-
Record interviews with local residents and experts to preserve the intangible context (construction traditions, cultural significance).
-
Ensure open access to the materials for researchers, restorers, and the general public.
