The project involved creating highly accurate digital copies of three nationally significant architectural monuments using laser scanning and photogrammetry for their documentation, preservation, and promotion.
Project Goal:
To preserve the architectural heritage of the Old Believers’ community, specifically three national churches in Bila Krynytsia, by creating precise digital replicas (3D models). This ensures the protection of documentation and provides virtual access to the heritage for researchers and the general public.
Tasks accomplished by the team:
-
Conducting comprehensive 3D surveys of three Old Believers’ churches using laser 3D scanning and photogrammetry: the Church of Cosmas and Damian (18th century), the Church of Saint Nicholas, and the Assumption Cathedral (early 20th century).
-
Office processing of the data: merging millions of points and applying photorealistic texture
-
Creating detailed, geometrically accurate, and photorealistic 3D models of the architectural monuments.
